Clean it one more time. If it persist...replace it. If you moved it upstairs yourself you can easily install a new one. All that sediment that was in the bottom of the tank probably got distributed into every nook and cranny when you moved it or there is still a lot of it inside. There are other parts of a water heater that wear out, too. I don't know the service life...depends on brand, materials. I think prices start at $500 and go up depending on a few things. |

I did call customer support and they told me to try draining the tank and pouring in 1 1/2 to 2 gallons of apple cider vinegar in and let sit for 8 hours if there is any gunk it will break it up and then flush...she also said it is nothing dangerous .
