I don't want to get into it too much, but basically it's a SNAFU on my part regarding how much money I have to spend on a toy. Yeah, if I wanted to make it happen I probably could, but I'm not going to rearrange my life to do so.

This car is well sorted out. The seller has disclosed EVERYTHING and he made me comfortable enough to consider buying the car sight unseen. If anybody is looking for one of these, by all means jump on this car. It's a total gem.

I went to look at a C5 Z06 CE this weekend that was listed on Facebook Marketplace. The pics looked fantastic. First thing the seller said was that I was 2nd in line, as somebody "just left" and had to "convince their wife" to buy the car. Evidently the guy didn't even know what a Z06 was. Regardless, I went and looked at the car anyway, and it turned out to be a roached out piece of shit with 38k miles. It was terrible. The seller had no idea what was going on with the car, he wasn't a Corvette guy, and with the multitude of aftermarket shit and tacky stick on carbon fiber, it was an instant pass. Now this guy is up my ass on Messenger "lets make a deal!" "the other guy backed out!" - Good luck.

After spending a half hour on the phone with the seller of this ZR1, I knew he was a good person. Somebody will buy this car, I was hoping it was going to be me, but it isn't in my cards right now. FWIW, the car has a tune (by somebody who knows WTF they are doing with these cars) and the mufflers are chopped. I do have some concern about being able to pass smog in California, so maybe it's for the best. I really need to find a bone stock, low mileage car.

Going forward, I am going to stop looking for awhile. The right car, FOR ME, will come around eventually.

The seller of this car is on the level though.
