Travelers called and offered me a deal. Take pictures of the truck with their app, they will do a preliminary estimate and Zelle me that amount. I take the truck to wherever I want to get it fixed, and if they find further damage will pay for that too.

My daughter did that when she was hit last fall by a guy with Traveler's. They agreed on the amount, sent the check right away including car rental and even paid for hidden damage that was found during the repair. They treated her very well.

Nice! You Your agent must have been burning up the phones all day negotiating with Travelers to get them to do...you know...what they always do after a fender bender.

Did they give any indication as to how long it will take to get your deductible back?

Since I haven't had an accident in 45 years I am a bit rusty on current protocol. I have no policy with Travelers so there is no deductible.

Supplemental Claims - for damage found subsequent to the initial crash estimate is not some favor they're doing you - its common practice. Letting you use your own shop is also pretty much the norm now too. The Zelle thing is a bit weird, an insecure means of transferring money and no recourse if somebody scams you. Press the SUBMIT button and that money is gone ..

I've been using Zelle and it's a great way to send and receive money, it's already "built into" your banking system, so no extra entity like PayPal. I added a new recipient the other week and they had like two or three authentications to make sure I really wanted to add that person and send the money.

How do you send money electronically?

The point is, over the decades all trucks have gotten bigger. Today's mid-size are *nearly* as big as the old regular trucks.

Measure however you like: bed size, gross weight, payload, wheel size, horsepower, yadda yadda. Nobody cares.
