My prediction, Jeff Gordon will win his 5th championship in his final season. Martinsville win pretty much sums up my theory. Jeff is extreme at the track, but he's in the final 4. My gamble is that he (NASCAR overloads) ensure that he goes out on top.

As someone who races and knows how many variables go along with that, do you really think that SCRIPTING a 500 lap short track race is something that happens?

I know Gordon is good at Martinsville, I'm making my prediction for the remainder of the races. I say he wins, and I don't think he's the best driver out there. NASCAR needs him to win.

If I'm wrong, you can call me on it, but I mentally called this outcome at the beginning of the season when it was announced to be Jeff's last season. He's never made it this deep since the format changed.

NASCAR lost me as a fan a decade ago because of scripting. I owned 3,000 shares of Speedway Motorsports when NASCAR's tv deal was announced. The stocked jumped a TON. Ever since, NASCAR has been chasing the TV money. They broke the sport and alienated themselves from their core fan base. Results are scripted.

So what advantage will Kenseth gain for harpooning Logano today? Likely loss of points for next season seems not to be a reward for helping Nascar help Jeff.

While it would be "nice" in nascar's eyes to have Jeff Gordon win the championship in his final year, there are just too many variables during a short track race to attempt to have script
