Over the many years of being a construction worker I worked with a lot of different people. As many smoked it was obvious that the methanol ones were predominately smoked by blacks.

Rather surprised with their way too many screams of racism on any little thing that they are not up in arms against their right to smoke what they want.

I'll offer my theory based on 60 years on this planet and attending school with, working with, and being friends with many blacks.

This is a broad brush statement BUT, in MY experience, many had bad teeth and bad breath and there was a misnomer that the menthol was a more pleasant odor and more pleasant taste than they naturally had. Like a burning breath mint.

Long time nicotine addict and I think menthol can become a preference if someone is introduced to them early on. I’ve known people that switch to them when they have upper respiratory illnesses, thinking they help heal. Crazy.

FTR, I quit many decades ago and it wasn’t easy. I feel sorry for anyone stuck with the addiction. I’d be happy to see nicotine disappear but not by government edict. Kids need to be protected from becoming consumers of it but I’ll be damned if I know how?

Makes me sick seeing people invest in companies producing these products. No different than any other drug dealer, IMO. Getting rich killing folks. Sad.

Smoked a few menthols as a teen. Always gave me a sore throat. Heard the flavoring is introduced onto the tobacco with microscopic particles of fiberglass. No idea if that's true but my throat sure didn't argue the point... And no idea why anybody would voluntarily smoke those things.

But gubbermint should stick to defending and administering the constitution, not our lifestyles. Few people worse than a safety Nazi in my book.
