A Texas gas station clerk has been arrested after shooting at a customer who broke a jar of salsa, authorities said.

Breanna Miranda, 22, was taken into custody Friday after the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office responded to a disturbance call at her workplace in Atascocita, the precinct confirmed in a statement.

After arriving, officers learned that Miranda told a male customer to leave the store. The two argued, at which point the man broke a jar of salsa before storming outside.

Miranda allegedly followed the man outside and retrieved a handgun from her car before firing at him twice, FOX News reported.

It is unclear if the man was injured in the fight.

Police subsequently booked Miranda into the Harris County Jail on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Her bail is set at $20,000

San*Francisco, CA -- Mayor London N. Breed today announced the launch of a new guaranteed income program for San*Francisco’s trans community. The Guaranteed Income for Trans People (GIFT) Program will provide low-income transgender San Franciscans with $1,200 each month, up to 18 months to help address financial insecurity within trans communities.

As part of the City’s growing portfolio of guaranteed income programs, GIFT is one of several programs the City is developing, implementing, and evaluating to identify how to best support San*Francisco residents and promote economic stability and recovery. This pilot program is the first guaranteed income initiative to focus solely on trans people, and will accept applications from November 15 through December 15, 2022.

The GIFT Program will provide 55 eligible trans individuals with temporary income and a range of wrap-around direct services such as gender affirming medical and mental health care, case management and specialty care services, as well as financial coaching.

“Our Guaranteed Income Programs allow us to help our residents when they need it most as part of our City’s economic recovery and our commitment to creating a more just city for all,” said Mayor London Breed. “We know that our trans communities experience much higher rates of poverty and discrimination, so this program will target support to lift individuals in this community up. We will keep building on programs like this to provide those in the greatest need with the financial resources and services to help them thrive.”

Transgender communities, experience poverty and economic instability at disproportionate rates. In 2015, when the U.S. Trans Survey was last conducted, 33% of trans Californians were living in poverty, compared to 12% of people in the general population. The percentage among trans people who are also Black, Indigenous and People of Color is even higher.

“Even with our rich history of trans advocacy, we see that trans San Franciscans experience poverty at exponentially higher rates compared to the general population,” said Pau Crego, Executive Director of the San*Francisco Office of Transgender Initiatives. “This is especially the case for trans people of color, disabled trans people, trans elders, and other trans communities

deeply impacted by discrimination and barriers to education, employment, and economic mobility. While in other parts of the country and the world trans people are targeted by institutions and legislators, in San*Francisco, we move towards progress and justice by investing in our most vulnerable residents."

I am glad you spent a day (or 3) at the range being introduced to safe marksmanship.
My father introduced me to firearms at the age of 12. He stressed (and enforced via confiscation along with remedial lessons) safe handling and responsible shooting from the beginning. I have now been a shooter, reloader, hobby gunsmith, firearms historian, collector and hunter for more than 50 years so shut the **** up about your State mandated one time bullshit seminar "teaching" you and your peers anything about firearms handling and safety.
No single lesson equals "knowledge" on any subject.

Did the State teach you the basics years ago or was it a family member who taught you? I suspect the State classes were an easy pass if you shot as a youth. So... that class bored you, and really had no impact for you at all...
Do they cover each applicants weapon individually, cover the difference between single and double action triggers, explain the importance of choosing the correct ammunition for each weapon owned, show what happens if a 20 gauge round is inserted in a 12 gauge barrel, demonstrate the manual of arms for each weapon in the class, explain sight pictures, trigger discipline, how to press the trigger... on and on...

Oh yeah, I forgot weapon disassembly, cleaning, reassembly and storage. Safe transport? Where to shoot? Local clubs, websites, gunsmiths, forums? I think not these things as well.
In summary... the State might teach new shooters how not to accidently kill themselves or others with their shiny new toys, but they come nowhere near training them how to be "shooters".

I was taught in the 6th grade at West Point. Used an M1 converted to what I beleive was 22, if that was even possible.
But, we learned, then shot at the range there..
Of course, then we as kids just elevated to other guns, shot guns etc.
It was not a threat to anyone, weird huh.

That's odd. The story I read said she went back in the store after getting the gun and came out a second time to shoot at him. Sounded like maybe he was a threat, waiting around outside the store for her to get off work, catch her unaware, and/or wait for witnesses to make themselves scarce. He'd already destroyed property because she told him to leave. If this qualifies as trespassing at night in Texas then shooting him could be ruled justifiable. Maybe she's being charged with having poor marksmanship?

I know people in Ca that are LEO/Ret. Their kids have never had CCWs, and they have been shooting competetion since they were little.
They carried before CCW was an issue.
Ca doesnt have "better" laws, quals. They make it look like it is.
Once you get permission, you still need to train as if you are carrying, allot. Dont let the permit make you feel ready.
Know the laws, know your capabilities and always train.
Stress training is the best.
