If you want a job for life, become a technician in any mechanical field. Get ASE master certification and earn huge dollars without a college degree. Attend a technical school for diesel, marine, powersports or racing technicians and write your own ticket in life. Learn to work on construction and/or forestry equipment and never be out of a job longer than it takes to drive to the next dealership. Forget office tedium... work with your hands AND mind every day and find out what it means to be really appreciated by your employer!

Better yet go low tech and become a ferrier. Great money low overhead and get a job anywhere.
