What color, is your front door?

Moving along with my rental painting project and I’m going to change the exterior Doors. I’m letting my tenant choose.

Our front door is blueish grey.

If you're letting your renter choose, what are you asking us for? What is the outside house color?

My door is just wood stained and varnished. Need to actually sand it and put a fresh coat of Valspar on it.

My house does not realy have a front door, we have a large screened in front porch with no egress from outside the building.

We have a large side entrance that goes into the kitchen/great room. It has a good Pella storm door and a green painted heavy door. Being I'm used to moving large heavy things I got a large size door(42")

The other entrance into the house proper is from down in the basement. The basement is 1/2 of the house size and the other half is a large 2 car garage and a people door. Everything works real good.

Hunter Green at the moment .. but it’s from the 80’s so replacing soon . Even has a green framed storm door .. both are a pain in ass.

I read something a while back that black is the prefered color, and in some cases actually raises the market value. Something to do with looking "moar hahdah" to break into.

Mine, however, is red.

The idea of a*red front door*having meaning dates all the way back to biblical times, when the color was thought to give protection against the Angel of Death. A passage in the Bible*tells the story of how the Lord commanded his people to sacrifice a goat and lamb and smear its blood on their door. If the people did so, the Lord stated that he would stop the Angel of Death from entering their home. These days, some religious buildings also have a red front door to remind people of the sacrifice Jesus*made when he died.
