Cool My favorite watch broke so I bought another one

Back in 2009, I purchased a watch from Nox. I really like the watch as it looked good and kept perfect time. ( top pic )

Bob cut me a very good deal and I got it for for $75 shipped. It's a Maratac AQC ( built by Timex ) and they have developed quite a following.

Back in November, I went to change the time and the knob on the stem came off. I thought "no big deal" and I contacted Timex to get it repaired. Timex won't work on any watch over 5 years old.

I dropped the watch off at the local jewelers and so far it's gone to two different watch repair persons and nobody fixed it yet.

So I decided to look at ebay and prices have skyrocketed. I found one for sale but the seller wanted $350. That one sold within days. I checked other forums and that is right about current pricing.

Another one came up on ebay at $325 or best offer. I waited thru a number of weeks as the price dropped to $300, $275 , $250 and finally it came up at $235 or best offer. I emailed him and asked if he would consider $150. He replied back at $175

I need to get hold of Nox again to get the correct band. If my other one ever gets repaired, I'll have two

What’s wrong with the watch? A long of stems can be removed my pushing a detent. This allows the movement to be removed from the case. To replace the stem, you simply push it back into place and ensure the detent is up. Is your watch broken or did the stem just come out? Can you just put the stem back in?

The threads on the knob pulled ( destroyed ) the threads at the end of the stem.

I need a new band for my TAG.

It's a Tiger Woods edition. Anyone know where I can get one?

My daily watch is a Maratac SR-3 Automatic. Like this:

Not mine, but the same watch. Can't complain. I have the bracelet for it, used it for awhile, but it's cheap. I prefer the NATO strap.
