I went to the doctor this morning and he prescribed a low beginning dose of Effexor. He said it would be 4-6 weeks before I notice anything and it will still be subtle. I can't wait for it to start working. The stress of the lay off is crushing me.

I am not sure. I am not sure if my home life makes me want to strangle every moron I encounter, or if every moron I encounter is impacting my home life. In any case, I am hoping the meds will help me not have to figure that out. I am hoping the meds will make me not get rattled by either one.

I have trouble chilling out and since I don't smoke pot, I am considering seeing someone. Mind you, this is not physical anger. It is just general impatience and high level frustration with most things I encounter. Dumb people seem to get under my skin quickly as well as poor drivers ...

and most of the stuff my wife does

It sits inside and stews until I crack and then it is over the top.

It is a trait I don't like in myself and I want to fix it.

I am open to any advice.

Yes. It helped. Find a good counselor.

Give it time. You may have to have your dosage adjusted more than once, also.

And you'll still know who the assholes are, but you won't feel as much need to strangle them.

I am on a low dose for 4 weeks, then a follow up and on to the next level.

37.5MG then to 70MG and see how I feel.

A funny, but not so funny story is how aggravated I was getting dealing with the Dr's receptionist on the phone while making the appointment. I was probably diagnosed before I ever got there.

my DR put me on Zoloft was on it for 5 weeks , had to get off it because it actually did the reverse for me, i had anxiety problems due to my hand, she said dont get off it, after a couple of days i started feeling like my self, yes i still have the anxiety but hey its been doing me allright, so i would ask another opinion sometimes drugs cant F-U up, be aware

With the meds, I don't really notice anything. I think the next increment in dosage will make it more apparent.

yea the meds are well, i was on them they make you feel numb, wishing you the best i am going through the same shit but children are involved
