True story. Many years ago, while I was in college (working my way through school) I interviewed with the owner of a local dealership for a sales position. Not some tote the note lot, the major Lincoln Mercury store in Fort Worth.

After getting through the process with the GM, the owner asked me one question. Only one.

What would you do if you came home and found your wife in bed with another man?

My answer?

I would tell her to have a wonderful life, turn and get my shit, leave, and move on as quickly as I could.

He hired me on the spot. I worked there for 3 years, until a better opportunity came along.

After I had been there awhile, I asked him why that question, and what would have happened if I answered another way. Maybe with kill them both, cry, get mad and kick her out, etc…

He said that men, who can control their emotions, think clearly in times of stress, make sound decisions, understand they alone control their actions, are the ones that succeed.

FYI, his wife was beautiful…
