Alternator Workshop...
this was what was displayed on my 2002 VW Passat's DIC this afternoon accompanied by a battery light. Apparently what it means is that the alternator is near to death and needs to be replaced. The car had been experiencing a number of electrical related problems with the turn signals & the AC. But I believe that they are all due to the alternator.
If you find yourself in the same boat don't buy a remanufactured alternator. Often they are in the same state as the one you're going to replace. Instead go to Amazon.com & buy one new with no core charge. The new one should be here on Wednesday. I'll update y'all. |

Yes & the battery light lights up as well. I actually got it to the mechanic without it dying on the way. The only thing I forgot was that I had to replace the belt at the same time.
