Default What did you learn to drive on......?

Myself, I learned to drive at 12 on my old man's 65 coupe de ville. It was so BIG that the only way a beginner could make sure it was in the middle of the lane was to line up the turn signal indicator on the front fender with the white line!
Dark blue version of this......

He bought it used so our family of six could drive cross country to California fairly comfortably. Should have got a sedan!

1950 ish Ford P/U, an old USAF hand-me-down to the Civil Air Patrol, I think I was around 14. Three speed on the column, grinded some gears that day.

I grew up on a farm so there were plenty of farm vehicles to drive from field to field.

My first actually road miles were in a '51 Studebaker in 1972. I was 12 years old. My step mom was none too happy with her brother who came up with the idea to let me drive on the backroads

Just like this one

I learned to drive in a '74 Chrysler New Yorker, and learned to drive a stick shift in a 4 spd Chevette. Probably explains my love of vettes.

I broke the alternator belt winding that sucker up once.... I fixed it before he could find out about it...
Other than that, I did pretty well in it.

My fathers 1968 Chev Biscayne... 307, powerglide, power nothing.

Oh! It have the optional Rallye Sport steering wheel... and a rear speaker!

0 to 60 by Tuesday, although it would get up to 116 mph indicated.

Just loved that car!

I always kept it clean and waxed, because my dad really didn't care.
