LS1 or 4V Terminator engine?
A freind of mine that has always been one of those dudes that just creams his shorts when he sees an F-Body...tells me today that ford mustangs are trash cars, he gets sick to his stomach when he sees one, that they sound like shit compared to an LS engine..and that his like..2001 Firebird WS6 never lost to a mustang. He also claims it has a vortech blower and makes 900rwhp...Ive never seen this particular car...so i cant comment on if its true...but seeing as how it would be a driver..I doubt it.
He said the Terminator cars, even with a KB blower, and work, were over rated and actually very slow compared to a built street LSX... I just dont see how a Vortech could support 900hp on a stock LS block....for one. And 2...the Terminators were evil bastards, anyone that denies that has never run one. What say you? |

The Terminators were underrated at best...very solid motors that could make a shit ton of power.
A stock bottom end LS1...making 900hp...unlikely. |

If you had an MMR 1000 block, with a fully built engine, making 900hp no spray, in an 04 cobra, drag radials, 9" rearend, and all the supporting mods done...
and a 2001 trans am, WS6, built LS engine, making 900hp, and whatever gm rear would hold up to it...and supporting mods. Which do you like best for multiple 1/4 passes? |

Being a former Terminator owner I can attest that the 4v motor they put in the 03/04 Cobra was not only underrated from the factory, but was/is one of the easiest to get power out of with simple bolt-ons. Car was rated at 390/390 from the factory and I added a CAI, full exhaust (incl catted X-pipe) and a tune and put down 425RWHP with a rich & safe tune. Added a 2.93 upper & returned later down the road and was putting down 465 RWHP. Total $$ invested in mods & tuning was under $1500!

From a sound aspect, I disagree with your friend. I always loved the sound of those 03/04 Cobra's. I have always thought that Mustangs sound great with an exhaust upgrade, even the 4.6 GT's and Older Fox 5 liters. I had a 03 GT with Bassani Mufflers that sounded real nice. Conservative, but nice.
