That there is a tertiary articulating rebearing subassembly.

It's the POS version made by Raytheon. The Hughes version is much more reliable, albeit noisier at mid- to high-rpm operating ranges... under load, of course.

You guys are the biggest bunch of dummies I've ever been around. That is a speed articulator for a Whirlpool washing machine manufactured in 1988. Most likely the synchronized bearing went out, and said family member threw it on the work bench. Just when I thought there were some smart people on here.....

You're thinking of a camel.

A camel is a cow that was designed by a committee.

i'm pretty sure Mrs. DAB is most familiar with this thing you refer to as a "washing machine".

i just know that dirty clothes go in the laundry basket, and a few days later, normally on the weekends, clean clothes are returned to the dresser and closet, neatly folded or ironed.

how all this happens is a mystery to me. but i'm pretty sure a "washing machine" is involved somewhere.

not sure how the thing works. it's kind of like a toaster: you put bread in, and toast comes out. where did the bread go? you put dirty clothes in, clean ones come out. where did the dirt go?

it uses electricity and water, makes a little noise, but not as much as when it's not working, then things are pretty loud!

I've been instructed, in no uncertain terms, to stay the hell away from the laundry equipment unless it needs repair or replacement.
