Default My morning so far...

I get up at 4:30 with joints hurting too bad to get back to sleep. Okay, the huge trashcan needs to be rolled a quarter of a mile to the street and I can use the exercise. Baron, the Worlds BESTEST dog wants to go with me, no biggie.

It takes me 15minutes to wrangle the can to the curb and another 7 to walk back. Completely uneventful, until we hit the driveway. Baron sees the cat and bounds over to say "hi!" Turns out, it wasn't the cat. It was a damned skunk! Poor Baron takes it right in the snout!

Okay, my separation anxiety ridden dog goes in the kennel outside while I scramble on the Internet to find a solution. The solution? Here's the recipe:

1qt vinegar
1tsp dish soap
1/4 cup baking soda

No biggie, so I mix it up - adding the baking soda last. It begins to bubble, so I put the lid on so I can run outside with it. Fortunately, it exploded IN the kitchen and not in the hall or family room.

I mixed the second batch outside, and it worked really well, but they really needed to included in the recipe that it should be mixed OUTSIDE and in close proximity to the dog!

I hope your day is going better than mine - AND BARON'S!

Here he is after he got tired of looking for the tomato. He's just a big, goofy guy who means no harm.

Thanks for the Laugh BB,as for your aching joints,if you drink diet sodas the Aspartame could be your problem,I stopped drinking them and with in a week my aching went away, never went back. If not try Glucosamine ,it works well . Hope this helps.

What kind of garbage can do you have? Is it the big wheeled kind that is provided by your garbage collection service?

I put a small chain around the handle of mine, and I hook it over the trailer hitch of my truck. It's hard to describe, but the way it's attached keeps the lid from opening more than a few inches, so the bagged garbage doesn't spill out on the way up to the street.

My garbage can's odometer has over 2 miles on it, because one time I forgot I had it back there and was going down US Hwy 98 at about 60 mpg when a passing car pointed at the can still attached to my truck. Luckily they caught me only a mile from my house.

Going from my house to the end of my driveway and back is only about 0.25 miles total, so I must really be lazy compared to you! But, I have my bad back (3 ruptured discs) to blame it on.

Yes, that's the kind I have, I'd love to see a picture of how you rig it up!

Sure! I just took a length of small chain, the part left over from the last time I hung a porch swing.

It was about 4 feet long, I'd say. Just pass it around the handle and use a carabiner to join it back to itself. Leave it loose, just enough to pass it over your trailer ball. If you make it too long, the can will hang too low.

You'll really have to take care going out, because if you hit a bump too fast it will hop off the trailer hitch and make a mess.

Also, you won't be able to turn very sharply or it will skip sideways and maybe break the wheels. Line your truck up to head straight down the driveway before you hook up the trashcan.

I'll try to get some pics for you.

This sounds like a great idea, but it also sounds like the making of a "my evening so far" thread.

Just go slow. It's a hell of a lot simpler than dragging it out by hand 1/4 mile one way.

No, I live 1/4 mile from the main road where the trash guys pick up our can, dump it in their truck, then throw said can willy nilly on the side of the road.

Here's that trashcan mod, looks like it just might work!

I was just trying to be funny...which didn't work...again. I was asking, "You just throw away perfectly good garbage???" You had to be there....

I get it... I was trying to be funny, too. I detest that 1/4 mile hike every week only slightly more than the way the garbage men treat my trash. Inflection can be more important sometimes than others... FWIW, it's not like I'm throwing away white boys.

Gotta agree about the aspartame, bad stuff. We had similiar problems with it plus leg cramps until we switched to Truvia sweetner.

Why are you wrestling the trash, where's the manpower around there?

I'm going to let this batch of tea run out then I'm going to give it a shot.

As for the trash, I need the workout the most!
