Default Milk Run: Cow-theme dairy truck stolen; $3K in milk product missing

Cow-theme dairy truck stolen; $3K in milk product missing

Thursday, August 11th, 2011, 9:09am

FORT MILL, N.C. - A big delivery truck that looks like a cow is missing and York County dairy farmer says he wants it back.

According to a York County Sheriff's report, a dairy delivery truck with a "black and white Holstein paint scheme" was stolen from Lakeview Farms on Wednesday night or Thursday morning.

Deputies were called to the 2700 block of Pleasant Road in Fort Mill around 2:33 a.m. Thursday morning and met with business owner Jim Price. Price told deputies that the truck was full of fresh bottled milk, orange juice, eggs, bread and other products when it was stolen.

That truck is known as "Molly" to the workers at Lakeview Farms, Price told WBTV's Trent Faris on Thursday. He says that "Molly" and her twin-sister "Daisy" do the work of three trucks and the theft is really going to impact the business.

The two trucks covered ten different routes in Fort Mill, Tega Cay, Indian Land, South Charlotte and Rock Hill. He says the trucks are normally running between 2 a.m. and 10 a.m., so if you see one out after that time to call police.

Deputies say the vehicle is a 2000 Chevy truck and has Lakeview Farms written on the side. There was nearly $3,000 worth of product in the truck. The truck is valued at nearly $40,000.

Price told WBTV that along with looking like a cow, the truck is equipped with a horn that makes cow sounds.

Very inconspicuous.
Should blend right in with all the Accords and Camrys on the road and go unnoticed.

Yeah, we'll go with that valuation for the insurance company.
