In Europe there are a lot of new 'disappear' laws, where companies are required to erase everything related to your account.

So in these cases even though you delete the account, the content is still there, this forces them to remove it.

I think Cali has a law now like that, or one is coming.

Uhh, ya, I do have some expectation of reasonable privacy. Not ironclad and airtight, because nobody much cares to examine me and my remarks, and likely nobody is busy hacking away to build an intelligence file on me.

But mostly we do obscure our real full names, employers, exact addresses and phones, sometimes obscure license plates, etc.

Nosey neighbors, prospective employers, activist types would maybe improperly leverage past frank conversations against us if an opportune situation came up.

Common example: a lot of firearms lost in tragic boating accidents. Sometimes pics of wife/daughter.

So if CD is on the racial/political warpath and Internet Brands doesn't seem to care, maybe it's time to abandon ship before a (intentional?) privacy incident occurs.

It’s crystal clear that IB doesn’t care.

Even if they could, and would, purge everything on request, anyone could have screenshots of anything ever posted there (or here) and do whatever they want with it. There is no privacy on an Internet forum. We know UD has lots of screenshots and notes and there are probably others.

MHill said his piece years ago and voluntarily left the forum and never returned. Tinkerbell is back to posting a bit over there. I believe she has plans to move back to the states.

Wendy's husband passed away a couple of months ago. She's wrapping up the estate and I believe will be returning to the states at some point.
