some free advice for the smartie (GWiz): enjoy your first paychecks. buy something nice for yourself. doesn't have to be something you need, nor something that is later useful (car lift). you've worked hard to earn the money, enjoy some of it before you have to pay the boring bills and set aside some for a rainy day.

the gang here can tell you, as well as your dad, that work is work. some days it's fun and cool, other days it just sucks.

She likes to race, so there's that. Her 2015 BRZ is practically new with only 23,000 miles. No car payment, no rent, 6 figures+....sock it away. I'm sure when she gets on her own, she'll get a 4th car, but right now she's smitten with her 3 little boys. Putting things in perspective, I have a LOT of money in checking and savings, and she has MORE.

i was talking with my sister a few weeks ago, as she has spent the last year or so working from her home, and not her office in downtown Houston. her husband has worked from home for many years (he's a writer). so i asked her if she had thought of living somewhere else, less expensive. her property taxes are almost 20k/year. but no state income tax. told her our property taxes were about 3700.

what??!!

and state income taxes are 5% max. if you are making 250k, 5% of that is 12,500, add another 4000 for property taxes, and you are still ahead by leaving TX.

she's still thinking that over.

not what you make, it's what you keep.

Yep, and that's why GWiz is still in Florida. The company she works for is out of Pennsylvania, and they accidentally pulled PA taxes out of her first check. Ooops, that was a large chunk. Between Florida's tax situation and our autocross venue, I honestly don't see her leaving any time soon. She wants to win a national championship, and I'm sure she does. I give it 2 years. She beat her car owner, co-driver by 4/10ths today. That's a HUGE number. Today was practice. Tomorrow will be telling.

Why do you respond to Jeff Trollheim? Facts can be shoved so far up his ass and he still can't see or believe it.

I'm not selling yet. Earnings growth = accelerating. Inflation = accelerating. Spread = widening. COVID comps are juicy for Q1 as we've seen so far, but Q2 and Q3 are where the real fireworks are (Most of Q1 2020 was Covid lockdown free).

Why is everyone so bearish right now? Late 2018 after the cycle peaked through the crash of March 2020 was the time to be bearish. Anyone overweight gold and treasuries beat the market not only through the crash, but even in 2019 alone. I dumped all of my gold and treasuries a few months ago.

Yes, this horse-**** will end badly. But not yet. And aside from all the macroeconomic factors in our favor, the Robinhoodies have another $1400 stimmy coming their way.

Now that I've said that, everyone sit back and enjoy the great crash of 2-8-2021.

The problem as I see it, is getting out when everyone is trying to get out. That obviously doesn’t apply to everyone but pretty sure it does to me. I’d rather be a year early than a day late.

My reference was to sell the rip of GBTC and LAZR, not that the market in general would sell off. I'm full in in my 401k and will be until they start tapering.
My Vegas day trading money is just that and what I'm speaking of.
At this time, Bitcoin dropped almost $3k since my first post so I guess that trade is off for the time being.

No, but what is really annoying is that when the markets are open, Bitcoin drops, and when closed, it goes up. This effectively makes it tough to make money on the actual stocks or etf's that are Bitcoin based.
