Now the Cubs are setting records that are pre-1908! Biaz stole home last night, the first Cubs player to do so since 1907. Also the two diving catches Fowler had in center field were nothing short of jaw-dropping. When the Dodger manager intentionally walked two players in the 8th, just to get specific future match-ups, I was thinking "Good, good, good. Let the hate flow through you."

That stuff isn't going to drink itself.

As long as the Cubs go all the way, I'd be happy.

If they beat the Dodgers & then lose, I'll be pissed.

Me too sir, me too. IMHO we already beat probably the best team in post season. The Giants were not a pushover by any means.

Lest anyone count their chickens, we all all tied up at 1 game apiece!

Kershaw is simply brilliant.

The Giants were very strong in the first half of the regular season, but they had all sorts of problems in the second half.

Quote:
Giants endure uneven '16, highlighted by 'pen

Bochy's club had Majors' best first-half record but led league in blown saves

SAN FRANCISCO -- The Giants' even-numbered-year magic wore off throughout an extremely uneven season.

The team that won World Series in 2010, 2012 and 2014 appeared on course for at least a repeat trip to the Fall Classic after charging into the All-Star break with the Major Leagues' best record (57-33). Then came a team-wide slump, causing the Giants to lurch toward the finish line with the Majors' worst record through most of the second half. San Francisco had to win five of its last six games just to claim the National League's second Wild Card berth.

That wasn't all. The Giants were three outs away from forcing the Cubs, the Majors' best team during the regular season, to play a Game 5 in the Division Series. Then the bullpen, which blew 30 regular-season save opportunities, couldn't hold a 5-2 lead in the ninth inning of Game 4. This final collapse manifested itself in four runs that eliminated the Giants, stunned legions of fans and could have rocked the front office.

Could it be? Could we actually have a series on our hands?

Another history making night.

Game 3 was the Dodgers 200th post season game and the first time in team history they had consecutive post season shutouts.

The Cubs have been held scoreless in 18 consecutive innings, the longest postseason drought in team history. The previous record was 16, set in 1906.

Tonight, Julio Urias will become the youngest pitcher to start a league championship series game. Ever. He's 20 years, 2 months, and 7 days.

Cubs batters have got to be chomping at the bit to get in there against the rookie Urias. I have a feeling the Dodger bullpen is going to get a lot of work tonight.

Cleveland defeats Toronto 3-0 in game 5 to secure the AL berth in the World Series.

I was really looking forward to watching game 4, but the local TV station showed a little league game instead. The slowest kid on the team keeps getting thrown out at home, but the 3rd base coach keeps sending him anyway. Slow learners, those little leaguers.

That was a really close play at home. I still don't know if he was safe or out. I think you'd need micrometers to actually know. If he was called safe they would have said safe in the replay.

Little known factoid...Cy Young pitched for Cleveland when they were called the Spiders before the turn of the last century.

VERY...very close. I thought it would be tie go to the runner.

I turned it off when it got to 10-2. Dodgers got hammered, but then I didn't expect a team as good as the Cubs to just roll over.

And now that the Cubs bats have awoken, it seems unlikely that the Dodgers will be able to put them back to sleep.

For that to happen they need to win tonight. Kershaw is just to risky. We have good pitching too though. As long as our bats stay hot the Cubs have a great chance. I've been watching them all season and can't remember them losing three games in a row all season, and typically when they lose a couple in a row they go on a tear. Not sure why, but that's been the pattern.
