A federal court ruled on Tuesday that the United States's ban on handguns for adults under the age of 21 is unconstitutional.

The 4th Circuit Court of Appeals, in a 2-1 vote, determined that the Second Amendment extends to 18- to 20-year-olds after a federal law barred them from purchasing pistols from licensed firearm dealers.

“Our nation’s most cherished constitutional rights vest no later than 18,” Judge Julius Richardson wrote in the decision.

The court applauded Congress's efforts to curb violence, though it insisted the move was a violation of adult gun rights.

That's the age I bought my first pistol. Sad thing is I'd have been justified to use it in self-defense a half dozen times in the three years leading up to my purchase. I'm damned lucky to be here.

Why force innocent younger teens to be helpless against violent criminals? Is a 15 year old less able to determine when their life is being threatened? Younger teens can't be trusted with a weapon before they're 18? That's pure BS, I've carried a knife for self-defense since I was 7 and never stabbed anybody. This law designates targets for murder.

The left thinks a 14 year old girl is mature enough to get an abortion and a 8 year old boy can decide he wants to be a girl but HEAVEN FORBID they try to buy a gun at 18.
