Default Weiner’s Pension, Benefits Could Top $1 Million

While Rep. Anthony Weiner may no longer have the benefit of Congress’ generous health care plan once he resigns, he will still be able to collect his pension and other benefits that could total more than $1 million during his lifetime.

According to an analysis of his available benefits by the National Taxpayers Union, the New York Democrat’s pension and a savings plan lawmakers have access to similar to a 401(k) could be worth $1.12 million to $1.28 million.

At 46, Weiner will not be eligible for his pension for another decade, at which point he could begin drawing a reduced rate of $32,357 a year, according to NTU. If he waits until age 62 to begin drawing his pension, he will receive his full benefits, or $46,224, according to NTU’s calculations.

Additionally, if Weiner aggressively invested in the Thrift Savings Plan, his balance would be roughly $216,000, the organization said.

Weiner announced Thursday that he would resign from the House in the wake of a sexting scandal that had engulfed the liberal firebrand for weeks and distracted his party.

As of Thursday evening, however, Weiner had yet to actually resign and would technically remain a Member of Congress until next week at the earliest.

bilmem

And I heard he has more than 5 Million to go toward a Re-Election bid.

Man these guys live in a different world.

Hell … I even heard a Presidential Candidate whose net worth is more than $250 Million; let his unemployed supporters “even he is unemployed”.

And you know what they did; they all had a really good chuckle about that joke.

...and what do you have to say to the fact that Obama spent $778 MILLION on his 2008 campaign? It is also highly likely that his re-election campaign will be the first to ever top $1 BILLION.

So.... a Republican worth $250 million is a terrible thing but Obama spending 8 times that much is OK.

Got it.

Let's consider the tax implications of this for a minute. Since they are donations, that is $2 BILLION worth of tax writeoffs for the individual Democrats and corporations who contribute. On the same note, campaign funds are not taxable on the recieving end either so it is basically the equivalent of $2 Billion worth of untaxable income for Obama himself.

Interesting. If you use the 50% tax rate that you seem to push for, that is $1 BILLION in tax revenue that Obama should be paying.... not to mention the hundreds of millions in tax revenue lost by the individuals and corporations using the writeoffs. Oprah has given an estimated $2.5 Million to Obama... saving her well over a million in taxes in the process.

I'm sure that in some unexplainable way, all of this is perfectly ok with you thanks to liberal math.

EDIT:

According to your own liberal math, wouldn't that $1 Billion in lost tax revenue feed the needy for almost 10 years?

If you’re concern about why it now takes so much money to run an Election, you may want to talk to the Supreme Court Justus’s.

I’m almost sure they gave us a coherent explanation of their ruling recently.

So I take it that you aren't actually going to give your personal opinion, as expected.

Of course if you did it would have required you to actually put together some sort of coherent thought. We all know that is asking just a little too much.

...and I'm not one to correct grammar and spelling on the internet, but "Justus’s"? Really?! Wow.
