I should have my head examined.
But I was watching Velocity reruns this evening and I would like to try and find someone out there who has a failed project Datsun Z car with a 250 GTO replica body kit. I am not able to afford a completed unit so I guess I am looking for just a body kit, or a car with kit that is in a state of disarray. As I approach my 60th birthday I feel I can probably do one more project, and a GTO replica is speaking loudly. Any rumors, stories or leads appreciated.

Do you Facebook? I have several searches saved for FB Marketplace on many items. If not, I can set one up on mine and let you know if anything pops up.

I knew a guy in Nashville who had a failed Datsun project. He bought the car as a failed project (someone was trying to stuff an LS1 between the front fenders). After dumping boatloads of cash into it, it was still a failed project. He got disgusted and sold it. Dunno the status of the car now.

I'm not trying to be a dick or something, but why not something like a Factory Five Cobra Kit? Surely you would be in it for similar dollars, and IMO they are a bit more 'legit' as far as replicas go?

Also, Factory Five cars are quite well engineered, have quality assembly and are priced accordingly. I do not have the disposable income to shop for even an old and dilapidated car like that. Unless you can find me a roller for $5k or so? |

I have been jonesing for a 240,260,280Z. I had a 280ZX in California I loved. Leaky T tops and all. Once I’m done with my 02 Z, I may be in the market.

My brother wanted a new one when he turned 16. My dad looked at the speedo that registered 160 or 180...and said no way. I've liked the early ones every since.
