The White House and Hillary Clinton are constantly saying that there are 30,000 gun deaths each year in this Country. Here are the true facts:

There are actually approx. 32,000 gun deaths a year.

60% are suicides. That's 19,200 (The CDC says the figure is 21,175.)

3% are accidental. That's 960

4% are justified. That's 1,280

33% are homicides. That's 10,560

80% of homocides are gang related. That's 8,448

That leaves 1712 people in a Country of 324 million. That leaves a chance of
0.0000052839506% chance of death by a gun. And the figures continue to drop each year.

America DOES NOT have a gun problem.

It will ALWAYS be an issue with the Left. Even ONE person killed with a rifle could have been prevented only by the Left and only by restricting liberty and private property. Only THEY can protect us from consequences of free will.

OddBall, sorry to take so long to respond, but I was having dinner. The figures in my post can be well-documented without using political sites. First and foremost is the suicide rate; 60% of all gun deaths are from suicide: This comes from the CDC (Center for Disease Control in Atlanta), a Government site:

Number of deaths: 21,175
FastStats - Suicide and Self-Inflicted Injury

As I did, you'll just have to Google each category of death I listed to verify my figures. It wasn't easy to get to this information, but it is all verified by Government agencies. DAB posted a link to one of the most prominent ones.

I honestly don't think the facts matter any more. From what I can see, we're headed towards Assault Weapons Ban, Part II. No one wants to hear it, not even the Republican politicians. I sent out a shitload of emails to my elected officials today and all I got were the "thanks, but we don't care" replies. I hate to say this, but Orlando may have just gotten Hillary elected.

I'll go ahead and say it.. Trump has gone off the reservation a bit, and the more he talks, the more he puts his foot in his mouth. He needed to shut the F up months ago. He's no longer helping our cause. Not that I'm voting for Hillary, but Trump isn't anyone I'd normally vote for either.

I pulled some info last night from the FBI... I did find one that included 2014. I didn't post but have emailed to a few friends.

Estimated number of guns in the US: 378 Million USA Today estimated 5-8 million of these were AR type rifles.

Murders in the US in 2014 per FBI: 11,961

Murders by any kind of firearm in 2014 per FBI: 8,124

Murders by any kind of rifle in 2014 per FBI: 248
Over 400 died from falling out of bed.(random google result - on internet. Has to be true)

Murders by any kind of shotgun in 2014 per FBI: 262
Murders by hand/fist/feet in 2014 per FBI: 660

Approximate number of teenagers killed last year due to texting while driving: 3,000 (google)
