Should prove to be one of the best games of the season, ND has not lost, bama has lost once.

I hate Alabama, and I hate Notre Dame..but I hate bama a little more, so GO IRISH.

I expect Bama to win big but the way this bowl season has gone I wouldn't be surprised by it being the other way. ND hasn't had near the competition Bama had this year.

Lets examine something by the numbers real quick. ND's toughest game was the triple or quad overtime win vs Pitt (we'll ignore that they actually lost to Stanford). Pitt gave ND all they could handle.

Alabama beat Ol'Miss 31-14, with 7 of Ol'Miss's points coming in the 4th qtr when Bama's starters were watching from the sidelines.

That same Ol'Miss team, a mediocre SEC team throttled Pitt 38-17.

Do the math.

Bowl games are weird like that. Sometimes the same team that played all year shows up and plays their normal game. Other times, not so much.

Your math is impeccable, and I too believe that Bama will win. I just want to point out that it is near impossible to reliably use Ole Miss in an equation. One any given day, Ole Miss has always been capable of beating anyone. Sure, they'll lose the easy ones and the hard ones, but then upset someone out of nowhere.

Examples:

Ole Miss snapped a 16-game Southeastern Conference losing streak with a 41-20 win over Auburn (2012).

Arkansas took a heartbreaking loss to Ole Miss on a last-second field goal with a final score of 30-27. Arkansas took an early 10-point lead in the first quarter but then allowed Ole Miss to score 21 points in the second quarter (2012).

Ole Miss finished 9-5 in 2009. Texas Tech finished its season 11-2 and was ranked No. 2 in the nation. Ole Miss beat them in the Cotton Bowl (2009).

Mississippi shut out the sixth-ranked Gators in the second half to win 17-14. It was the Rebels' first victory over a top-10 team since 1997, when they beat No. 8 LSU on the road, and one of their biggest victories ever in Oxford (2002).
