Seems like having a bunch of unknown foreigners, who have already demonstrated they don't respect US law around a sensitive military base might not be such a good idea. Call me crazy.

That's how I look at this. These protests are extremely far away from my reality and they don't affect me in any way. They have nothing to do with me and I have no involvement. Especially in this state, there's so little of that going on.

All it takes is one blocked street that you want to go down, one burned store that you used to frequent, one muslim teacher that your grandchild is exposed to. Then we start getting neighborhood HOAs and civic clubs shifting direction, then a city council election, then a police chief and it eventually ends up right in your lap.

Fort Knox is 40 miles from Louisville and is arguably the safest place to live in the entire state. There is zero drama on post.

With record homicides and record shootings, Louisville faced a plague of violence in 2016. In total, there were 118 murders - the vast majority coming by gunfire. That city's become another Memphis, Tenn. or Macon, Ga.

I see your point, but Fort Worth isn't really a hotbed of political activity. We had about 1900 people do the whole women's march thing in downtown, and the comments I heard from the guys who knew people who went were along the lines of "isn't that cute". We get bigger crowds for the Jingle Bell Run. People here are more concerned with the Stock Show, how the Horned Frogs are doing and what's on special at Old South Pancake House.

I guess what I'm saying is that protesters won't get a lot of bang for their buck in Fort Worth. Dallas maybe, but it's pretty sleepy around here. And I like it that way.
