Strangle cat, throw out mattress, go to Sleep Store, buy another mattress.

OK, I think I am almost an expert on this..

I have kids, 4 of them, and all have pee'd the bed.

Whatcha do is leave the mattress out in the sun for the day, let it get plenty of air.

Make sure whatever cover it had (if any) is washed

Is it your own bed? if so spray it with something to make it smell better..

Is it just a guest bed? it is still ok.. it makes sure they wont stay too long...

Cat piss is one of the nastiest scents on earth to remove.
We've had properties that we personally steam cleaned multiple times with professional chemicals and didn't get the stank out.

The smell always comes back when it gets damp or warm.

Yep, no matter what you do to mask it, it will come back. Toss it and the cat...

We had to replace the sub flooring in my wife's condo and retile the floor.
I'd swear a subtle scent of it comes wafting up on hot/humid days.

Burn it.

I got a cat that peed on a laptop.
Washed it all down, including the MB.
It still smells.

Seems dumb but I'm increasingly amazed at what Fabreze can do for odours, and if that fails see if you can get your hands on a portable Ozone air purifier. I used to use mine for getting the tobacco smoke stink out of the wood work in my restaurant. I'd just lock up the room, crank it up to high and leave it overnight. Ozone is very powerful stuff. It penetrates surfaces and kills or neutralizes everything. Next morning the place would smell like the outdoors after a lightning storm.

You could also try one of those steam clean/disinfectant carpet machines. We had an old dog that would pee on the rugs all the time, and it stunk! After he passed, we had them come in an do a number on it and there's no smell now.

If the cat piss gets on carpet- it's done. But besides replacing the padding and rug, you need to seal the slab or flooring with paint or sealer because as soon as the humidity hits the sweet spot for the urine crystals to vaporize, you will still smell it on those days.

I don't know if there is a way to de-musk male cats, but you could either only get females, or just make the pet an outdoor kitty. Seems like they do it when they are fustrated to be kept indoors and they want to mate.

Shoot cat while on mattress. Then come back for instructions on getting cat blood out of mattress.

Wife's insistence on cats around the house, has cost us only 40 bux for a fresh carpet in the old MBR, used of course, but clean, I did have to replace the old green carpet after some years because the cats found a spot......so wall to wall is a dead loss.....

now just recently one of them found an old oriental rug from my folks house.....I covered it with Arm&Hammer yellow box deodorizing stuff, hosed it down in the driveway, to add moisture, not wash it out, rolled it up tight and then rolled it up in black plastic, WET, sealed the ends with just folds and a clothespin or two, let set in the garage for 3-4 days.....rolled it out in the drive found the stink gone.....

layed it over a sawhorse, and sprayed it down to wash out......

let dry in the cool breeze outside....smell gone....

the rolled up with enzyme deodorant trick was told me by a Oriental Rug carpet cleaning guy.....
