Our buddy went in for a shoulder surgery. Wife called me and said he was short of breath and his chest hurt a little. Took some convincing but he finally went to ER.... pulmonary embolism. Just went to visit him in ICU. Gotta take stuff serious some times fellas!

@C3C7NIC Candee...I looked up all Mike’s meds. He was prescribed Crestor in November. Weird as he is already on another cholesterol med... his total cholesterol is only 178. His cardiologist has him on a lot of meds. Plus he is on one from his blood Dr for his PV. Anyway he has Never done well on statins. I told his cardiologist this more than once. The list of side effects list decreased appetite, nausea, stomach irritation. He has all three of those symptoms and has lost 17 pounds since November. He did not need to lose weight. He is too thin.

What is HLD/LDL ratio? I wonder if Dr. would agree to taking him off Crestor for a few months to see if symptoms improved?

Poly-pharmacy is a real issue, especially when you have multiple specialists prescribing their desired meds.

I see two specialists (oncologist & nephrologist) in addition to my primary care provider. I make sure my primary gets copies of all tests run by the specialists as well as everything they prescribe. I like and trust my primary more than either of the specialists. As long as he is good with what they are doing, I am OK
