UConnect, for example, is Stellantis' infotainment system, so many newer Dodge, Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, Ram, Fiat and Jeep models are capable of pinpointing your stolen ride's location to police if you have that service enabled, too.

Usually the car comes with a "free" trial of the connected car service ("free" as in "bundled into the price you paid for the vehicle," kinda like Yadkin's spa removal). So most likely your car will continue to spy on you for the next 3-5 years.

Oh, and OP: just because your Jeep doesn't have a navigation system doesn't mean it has no GPS receiver. I guarantee you there at least one GPS receiver as part of that UConnect telematics unit - that's the only way the system can report the location of a stolen car.

This is whats going on. My wife bought a new Jeep about 18 months ago and as part of the deal it has Car fax on it. It comes in by Email with a lot of info on it once a month. It shows the approximate mileage on the car.

Yes, it's spying on you. With Jeep, the Vehicle Health Report gets its data from Uconnect Access and/or SiriusXM Guardian systems, which are tied into nearly all functions of your vehicle. You have zero control over what data is being collected, where/how it's being uploaded and stored or to whom it's being sold. It doesn't matter if you're subscribed or not.
