He forgot to mention gridlock traffic and the fact that there’s only two north-south corridors, I-95 and I-81, both of which can get clogged with truckers at any given time. Do NOT travel them around major holidays.

I got a reckless for 55 in a 35 in Manassas on a road that went from 45 to 35 for no reason. Fought it in court and reduced it to speeding. Had to take a safe driving course and all that jazz. Even if the speed limit is 75, you can still get a reckless for 80. I set the cruise on 79 and call it a day.

I could never live there.

The one speeding ticket I have gotten so far was when I was driving on a 4 lane, divided, limited access highway. Traffic was very heavy, so I was going about 40-45 mph. Suddenly, the cherry-top comes on behind me, and the cop instructs me to get off at the next exit and pull over. Apparently, there is a 1 mile section of that highway that goes through Weehawken NJ where the speed limit is 25 mph.

NJ troopers can be real assholes. On 295 their headquarters is right off the exit. They will set up a crew of six marked cars and flood the highway. The drive aggressively and run right up on your tailgate while you are going 70 mph. If they think they see something in your hand, boom cell phone violation. Most people pay the ticket and move on, as its no points. Egnalf, however is principled. I got the phone records showing where it was, took pictures of the sync logs in my truck and off I went to court to prove them wrong. I was driving up from the beach and stopped at a client site. One of my field guys was being a complete ass and pissed me off ( the one who subsequently got fired for Christmas) and my phone left my hand at a rapid rate of speed, and crashed into some drywall. I dropped it at the ATT store down the road.

Then I got a nice fresh cup of coffee. I was driving with it in my hand and leaning on the console. It may have looked like I was holding a phone from behind, especially with tinted windows. Dueshey trooper didn't want to listen, so I made him meet me in court and embarrassed him.

ATT phones have some program to basically transfer everything. You click the app thingy on the old one and a bar code comes up. You click the camera on the other and it takes a picture of the bar code. A few button pushes and magic happens. Everything transfers over, BUTTTTTTT it takes a while depending on the speed of the interweb wherever you are. I sit the two on the window sill and come back in a couple hours and Voila! its done. (it could take only a few minutes, but I don't want to spook it and mess it up by checking too soon).
