Super Bee Engine Installed!
After about 6 weeks, my 383 Magnum Engine is back in the Bee. Bored .060 over, Comp Cam (Mopar Purple Shaft Grind), Speed-Pro Teflon coated pistons, stainless steel valves, light head work, Holley 770CFM Carb and Edelbrock 383 Performer manifold, engine balanced. Runs soooo smooth with an excellent power curve. Plenty of torque. We didn't dyno it, but the estimate is around 400HP. Here are a few pics:
Even though it's a 4BBL, I'm sticking with the "Six-Pack" style air cleaner. I also added factory power brakes. |

Why is that one side of the intake manifold brown like it's been leaking oil? Neat car... looks massive, how much does it weigh?

Is that where it was leaking from before it was rebuilt?

The car IS big. According to specs, it weighs 4050 pounds. She does get up and move though for as big as she is. Big back seat too The car is at the muffler shop today getting the mess that was the exhaust system untangled. He said that he wants to shoot video and put it on his website. If that happens, I'll provide a link. Thanks for all the nice comments! |

If the manifold comes off again, and you are concerned with keeping that "like new" appearance, powder coat it instead.
They can mimic the bare cast aluminum look, and the coating will be good to 500+ degrees. Hotter than that is ceramic coating territory, another viable option too, but there is no way the manifold is seeing that kind of temp, and finish (color) options with ceramic coat are more limited. |

Chef brought the car over to the house last night. What a kick! It's got a great sound and it'll get ya where ya gotta go pretty quick. Love it!
