That sux bud. Years ago I had a 67 Vette vert as a daily driver. Came out from work and it was gone. Just some glass in the spot where it was parked. I was lucky though and the cops found it a day later. Only this missing was one wheel. They didnt even take the hardtop. The towing company did the worst damage by cracking out the rear body from towing it improperly. Good news was the insurance more than paid for what was done.

Why are the police up there not really interested in investigating/prosecuting auto theft? Telling people to leave the keys in their vehicles to avoid confrontation doesn’t bode well for a civilized society like Canada. Are the police under-funded? Are they busy with more serious crimes? Do they view auto theft as a means to a more just and equitable society? Who made the call not to pursue these crimes?

As far as the OnStar comments, any decent thief will pull that fuse as soon as possible.

Perhaps OnStar could be rewired with an inline fuse that's not obvious.

I thought about that, but I'd be willing to gamble, what, $ 50 or less to call and activate Onstar for a month, just to see if they could track the car.

I'm gonna guess they scanned your signal during use when you were getting gas, coming/going from work work or even while they were sitting outside your home.
They're pretty advanced these days with tech crap.
