Default My plan to get back in a Vette

In a year or so, my wife's Equinox lease will be up. At the same time my Malibu will be paid off. I am keeping it as my DD for work.

She wants a Mercedes SUV so I will chat with my neighbor who is the Sales Manager at the local Mercedes dealership and we will get a good deal through him.

I will do the Equinox lease return through the dealership we leased it through with the request for a low mileage C7 purchase. I am thinking it will prevent them from trying to bone me on the lease return and I should get a reasonable deal on the Vette.

Sound like a reasonable plan?

Yes, taking it in the ass on a used Vette to prevent taking it in the ass on a lease return is an awesome idea

I have to return the lease to them no matter what, so I guess I am missing your point.

Option B is to purchase it. what's the residual value? Sometimes, these are great deals

She doesn't want to keep it, so it's going back, probably 10-15k miles under the lease

Return the lease to the dealer and look for a Vette privately

I figured that's what you meant, but for some reason didn't just come out and say it.

When I returned her previous lease we didn't get another car through them and they tried to screw us around on some minor crap. I figured it was because we did not get another vehicle through them. I fought it and ended up not paying any of it, but it was a huge pain in the ass.

I have considered going private, but dealing with Vette owners isn't much better than dealing with dealers.

Option B: Tell them you guys haven't decided what you're doing and are looking around. You are considering another lease from them depending on how this one ends... blah blah blah... they don't need to know what you're doing.

Buying private is the way to go.

Agreed about most Vette owners but your thought process gives them a chance to screw your twice. Good luck either way you go

Apologies for the earlier post, I’m use to a place that busts balls of people regardless of subject matter or the relationship of poster to said ball buster.

I’ve reported my post and await the consequences (not really)

Going thru the dealer can get a certified pre owned- means it will qualify for GM warranty. Can’t do that with private. It’s something to consider.

GM warranty is transferable as long as in service date and mileage fall in line
