I think I would have mortgaged my Grandmother for an IROC back in the day. I did, and still do think they are beautiful cars. Obviously they aren't fast enough to get out of their own way, but back then, they were "fast". Other than the '69 Camaro, the IROC series would be my favorite.

I'd love to get myself back into a 3rd Gen Trans Am. Sold the convertible I had many years ago now unfortunately. I remember thinking my 87 Formula was fast I had. Today a stock Civic would destroy it Still love the looks of the ones not rusting away.

I bought a new '89 Camaro RS through the BX back in the day. I picked it up at one of the eight places available; Friendly Chevy in Dallas. It was a fun car but had a vibration from the factory that never was figured out. It wasn't a major vibration just like a tire out of balance. A slight wobble. Three years of that was enough and see ya.

My barber back in Va has a pretty nice collection of cars. Not sure if he still has it, but at least up until a few years ago, he had a 1985 TA that he parked in his collection with somewhere between 12-1600 miles on it. Before he parked it, I got to drive it. Still had the plastic on the seats, etc.

Congratulations on the new toy. I always like the old Zs. I bought my first new car after graduating from college. It was a black '82 Trans Am. I was looking at the Zs but I found a dealer demo at a nice discount so I bought that instead of the Z.

Enjoy.

I remember a brochure from the first year ('86?) or so? In 1989 I got a decent job and needed a dependable ride. Flipping through a magazine was a 2 page ad for the IROC. Red/tan, t-tops, etc...245bhp which seemed good for those years! Everything was pathetic then compared to now. I found one in Atl. exactly like the ad car. Red/tan, 5.7, t-tops, loaded. I bought it! Recorded Guns n Roses on magnetic cassette tape for the drive back home and to break it in! I kept all the paperwork on mine, even the salesman biz. card. I have another friend after me that I need to start driving it. I think it has 65k on it. It's been several years but really is fun to drive. I follow a FB group page and those guys really make them look great! Lowered a bit, bigger wheels, LS motors, etc...

I actually looked at a bright red 1991 T/A GTA with 112k Sunday. Could have gotten it for the same price. I always likes Camaros better.
