Default Can anyone recommend a good dry cat food dispenser?

One that doesn't require electricity is preferred.

Not this exact one, but our kids use one similar to this (gravity-fed). Seems to work pretty well.

If you're planning on going on vacation for a while, you really need to have someone "pet sit," or at the very least come over and let the cat in and out, make sure there's fresh water and food, etc.

My cats are indoors only now, outdoors cats no more.

Your cats get wet and you won't feed them? Check Amazon, they have everything. Maybe 😺 dryers too....

You only have to feed them once.

I'd be concerned about the food bridging in the gravity feeder and not getting dispensed. I'd also have trust issues with an electric one. Would it be possible to have someone come over maybe once a day for a welfare check? Probably would be good to have the litter box emptied occasionally while you're gone. We used to do daily checks of our neighbor's cats and give the one his medications. He'd help with our dog too when we were away or gone longer than expected.

If we are going to be gone longer than overnight, we have someone come in to check on the three cats. We leave dry food out all the time and they are very good at self regulating on how much they eat but still want someone to make sure water is OK and boxes are scooped

How would it not require electricity? Looking for a wind up timer? Or do you mean batteries?
Mine runs off a USB cable to a USB wall charger which could just be replaced with a power bank. It is wifi connected so I can trigger the feed with my phone, and it sends a confirmation that feed was successful, otherwise it can be programmed on a timer. Adjustable feed amounts. I like that it uses the same app I use to control my smart bulbs. Brand is papifeed off amazon. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0CLH9NBW7/
Combined with my security cams, I can give my dog the command to begin eating.

I got one around 20 years ago, probably from Wally's. Still using it for my housecat.

I bought another one two years ago for my barn cats from Tractor Supply. It's bigger than I wanted but works well. I only fill it about halfway so the food doesn't get stale.

Both are gravity-fed. Gravity works pretty good.

While our kids use the gravity feeder I mentioned in an earlier post, if they're going somewhere for more than 2 days we end up checking on their 2 cats (indoor) every other day; the feeder could get tipped, litter box needs scooped, etc. I'd be concerned about the litter box more than the feeder.

Yup.

When we head out for more than a day or two, our next door neighbor comes over once a day to check the food and water (and while we had ferrets, theirs too).

We do the same for them when they go out of town

I have a camera in my barn aimed at the feeder. I've watched my cats stick their paw into the opening to pull more food down when the tray in front of them gets low.

Cats are way, way smarter than most people think.
