I live only 3 hours from there so I may go there to see what they have what I may want. Right now I have a Sony rack system bought in 96 that has the receiver tuner 6 cd changer cassette tape deck surround sound tower speaker and also have hooked up a Sanyo studio turn table. Might add more speakers and maybe a entire system

I could have a lot of fun in a place like that. I googled them, but their website is under construction, so no pricing info

The vintage stereo gear is always fun to look at/reminisce over.
The bummer (sort of) is that technology has come a LONG way with speaker design, driver accuracy etc. Pianos sound like a piano is being played live in front of you. Add processing power to the equation and you get digital signal processors that control all sonics in the time and frequency domain so that they get to you "in order" instead of bouncing all over the room. Of course room treatments help greatly with this as well. Another thing they didn't understand back in the day was treating first order reflections if nothing else. It makes a profound difference in being able to hear the speakers instead of what's bouncing off the walls in front of you. You also don't have to break the bank to get really good sound. Lots of audio snobs out there trying to convince everyone their $10,000 speaker cable makes for an "eargasm" If I had more time in another life, I'd open an audio shop that specializes in high quality, affordable gear as well as offering affordable in-home consulting services. I could put together a very nice system for just over $1500 Scott Just put a tube pre-amp in my system and it made a huge difference in making the sound more natural. The pads behind the speakers are home made absorption panels. Cost me $5 each to make them by hand.

I've made a few bucks buying high end gear from sellers there with cash and driving to pick up. You'd be surprised at how many ballers don't want to bother with packing things up. They also have to have the latest/greatest gear and will take a huge hit to sell stuff that is barely 6 mos old. Values typically drop 40-50% as soon as it is a few months old. Scott

I went part way down the "High End" rabbit hole 20 years ago and enjoyed it but now tinnitus has taken the fun out of it. Recently pulled my old 1978 vintage Technics SA-500 our of the attic and plan to replace a couple switches and maybe refoam the drivers in my JBLs of the same vintage. I use the Technics SL-3200 turntable I bought back then on a regular basis.
