Salt Lake City is going to replace traditional fireworks with the city’s first-ever drone shows at this year’s upcoming Independence Day and Pioneer Day celebrations.

Salt Lake City Mayor Erin Mendenhall made the announcement to make the switch from fireworks to drones as part of an effort to combat the city’s high fire danger and to alleviate local air quality concerns, according to a release.

Not only big fireworks but fireworks are legal here plus it's my sons BD on the 4th. If i can't have fireworks where i live i go somewhere where they are shooting them off. It's part of the American lifestyle.

For a number of years drones have been flying into fireworks shows and causing problems. Hopefully Hobby Fireworks people can return the favor.....

My neighborhood spent $6000 this year on fireworks. We have some great resources and able to buy everything wholesale so we get more bang for the buck. This year we upped our capital budget and purchased more crackle cubes which allow the remote ignition of the fireworks and can be programmed to music.

We have a stage setup at our wiffle ball field and will have live performances all day from various artists that are in recognizable band names. (Some of the bands you may have even heard of)

Dierks Bentley, Lady A, LANCO, and then a large number of studio musicians as well. It is a good thing living in Nashville, there is never a shortage of musicians

A few years ago, my son brought home quite a collection! Big time, real fireworks!

We celebrated a party on Fourth of July and lit off a beautiful display! We live in a small valley, so it had to Echo for miles and you could see the beautiful works in the sky for miles and miles.

A few days later, one of my neighbors comes walking up my driveway, we have a very long driveway, not common for people to walk all the way back to the garage. He proceeds to break my balls and telling me not to lite them ever again… his dog is afraid of them. I said nothing.

Maybe about a week later or so, his dog got loose. It found its way in my backyard on my property. My neighbor was running through the neighborhood screaming n bawling….. I picked up the dog it was soaking wet, I got filthy, walked all the way down my driveway and handed him the dog. I also got in his face and said this is private property.

I got a name in the neighborhood now!
