Bucket list stop for any Corvette enthusiast.
Roger's Corvette Center in Maitland, FL. On top of having some of the rarest Corvettes in existence in his personal collection and the nicest examples of pre-owned cars you will find anywhere, Roger Judski is genuinely a great person to talk to and a wonderful ambassador for the hobby. Once a year I stop by to shoot the shit and browse the showroom. I have never spent a dime in his place, but he always takes time to talk to my group and show us around. I will definitely check his inventory first when I am shopping for my next Vette this fall. Here are a few pics from today's visit:
When I asked him which one of his kids he would keep if he were forced to only keep one, his answer surprised me. 67 L88. He said the white color makes it somewhat of a sleeper, and he prefers the design of the Mid Year. Throw in a 66 big block Tanker, a Corvette Challenge car, a 68 L-88, a ZR1 test mule, Racer Jordan Taylor's personal car that he is storing for him, and of course the 1 0f 2 ZL-1, (How did I miss taking a pic of that one?) his place is Nirvana for any Corvette Geek. |

I tried to buy a Corvette from him 15 years ago. I guess he has mellowed
some. He would not let me drive the car, he did not tell me anything about the car. He did bragg about his investments. I did not buy a car from him but I did go across the street and buy a Corvette from a small Corvette dealer. They let me drive the car and I negociated a price. Rogers would not negociate a price. Another point I helped a guy by a Corvette. He wanted a red ragtop at Rogers. I went to look at it. It was missing all kinds of trim on the car. I told the guy find another car. Rogers use to advertise years ago, 80 Corvettes under Roof to sell. Now they are lucky to have 20 to sell. Times have changed with the internet. He has a nice collection but he is a poor salesman. When I was walking away from the demo, Rogers said to me, "Oh I did not tell you anything about the Corvette". I said ,"You told me enough" |

First time I heard a L88 was in 1985 in Portland Oregon. The owner of a Pizza chain had one, burgundy with the black on the hood. Side pipes. Damn it sounded bad ass.
