I don't talk much about it but I have in the past.

fireworks still scare me after deployment. At least I can put in ear plugs.

Pouring sodas...not scary.

A friend of the family that served in Vietnam, suffers from PTSD. I had no idea and at a party my parents had, I came up behind him and popped a balloon. I thought he was going to die on the spot. It was funny for about a half second and then I really thought I gave him a heart attack.

I'm super jumpy with loud/sudden/unexpected noises. Could get a person seriously hurt if they're the cause and within reach. Not something I have control over, it's a reflex, survival instinct. But I'm already half deaf and only worry about fireworks exploding close enough to cause injury. Stupid people are dangerous, won't trust them.

Fireworks are ridiculous anymore. Sounded like a war zone last night.

Fortunately my dogs did well. Better than usual. Especially the younger one who usually cowers or jumps up into the bed. She did ok and slept the entire night in her bed. Earlier in the evening they were shooting off fireworks and she did hide in her kennel.

Man I can not wait to build the new house up in the country and move out of this subdivision.

Yep, wife confirmed she gave them anxiety meds last night. The dogs had a better buzz than I on New Years Eve.

Speaking of a buzz, you know Ricky passed on me a couple weeks ago. Here is a pic I took a few years ago. He was running around and did a face plant and wrenched his back and was on pain meds.

He ate dinner and then I gave him his medication. About a half hour later, I brought him upstairs and on the bed and went about doing things.

I was in and out of the bedroom several times over the next 10 minutes or so and noticed Ricky just sitting there staring at the pillow.

I went to go my phone and took a pic and nothing, just sitting their high as a kite. I went over to him and said "Ricky! are you okay buddy?" He just looked up at me real slow, then got up, did a couple circles and out like a light.
