I hardly ever used our pool, I'm too fidgety to just lay in pool very long. That and maintenance was a pain some years. I've been meaning to find a hot tub for many years. Not a big one either just a 2 person as it'll be me using 90% of the time.
Man it was 97 out today, seemed hotter even though east wind off the ocean today... Going to suck the next week flirting with 100 most days.

I had alot of projects to wrap up before summer... Too late.

Living the dream. I was able to take the car out for a little cruise and meet the wife for pizza. My FIL joined us and paid. Got home and went on a 30 mile bike ride once the sun went away.

Morning folks...
It's gonna be brutal here today, no wind 76 and high humidity at 7am do not make a nice day.
I see me doing inside stuff the next few days.

Morning Rod. It's the same here. 79 degrees at 8am and going to 96 for a high. Going to be the same for the next 4 or 5 days with no rain.

The heating element in the smoker will probably not even come on when I'm smoking the baby back ribs today.

I'm also watching the Indy and keeping an eye on the Baby Back ribs in the smoker.

First 3 hour phase done and 1/2 of the way through the 2 hour wrapped phase. Unwrap after that, add BBQ sauce and finish smoking for 1 hour. Be done about 4:30.


Wife's potato salad and deviled eggs in the frig. Doing some baked beans in about an hour.

Ugh, what a night. Nadoes took some lives in El Reno OK last night.

Tried to make today productive. Planted a ton of plants and pulled a poorly placed tree out with the pickup. Hated to pull it out but was planted too close to retaining wall.


Off to get lunch and and relax before thing 1 heads this way.

OB, when I wrap pork for the crutch or ribs for the 2, I’ve been using the pink butcher paper.... gives good bark and lets moisture out. I’ll never use foil again

Way too much fukin trouble! Just rub some dry rub on them and throw on grill and cook on low heat for 30-45 minutes and presto done!

I may have to try that next time. The liquid in the foil is mostly the apple juice and brown sugar from phase 2. I spoon it over the ribs as a graze while they are cooling down.
