So much for trading in my Suburban on Saturday ....

'01 Suburban +1 and '14 Subaru Impreza -1

Mary and were headed "down" on Rt 100 and the vehicle in front of me turned right onto Huffs Church Rd. The lady in the Impreza thought there was enough room for her to turn left.

There wasn't. I got it "whoa'd down" to about 30 mph when my right front met her left front which pushed her vehicle the way I was going.

The lady was fine as were Mary and myself. The Suburban has a loose right turn signal , broken fog light and the bumper got pushed down very close to the tire. The center cap on the aluminum wheel is broken too.

The Impreza had a crushed front fender, dented hood and the grill got popped out. It was also leaking important fluids.

I called 911 and had the State Police come out. She was licensed and insured and we both have State Farm. Already have the claim started.

Oh well, it's only a vehicle and everyone is fine

Depends how fast State Farm moves. Suburban is old enough it may be totaled ( if the front frame rail is bent )

Shouldn't take State Farm too long to get you some funds unless they're sending you to a body shop. That sheit can take weeks.

Let me know if we can do anything to help.

I have rental coverage so if we need an additional vehicle, it's almost fully covered. ( maybe fully covered since it wasn't my fault ) Mary works at the top of the hill and I work at the bottom. Start and end time are within 30 minutes of each other so if we commute, it's no big deal.

Mary and I both woke up feeling great. I texted the lady's husband this morning saying my wife and I are feeling good and that we both hope your wife is feeling fine too.

I got a reply before lunch saying she feels fine and that she thanked us again for being so nice.

It was good to hear she is doing well too

I believe you are going to be correct. Although an inconvenience, it will work out in the end.

I borrowed my bosses extra vehicle. A fairly new toyota corolla. I really appreciate it but I can't wait to get back in a "real" vehicle

Good your ok, if interested you may be able to buy it back cheap and get a shop to fix it for less than they paid you for and pocket the $$$ if they total it
..........I did in the 99 GMC and a few others.......even a utility trailer that someone ran into while we were using it! Make sure the insurance company has all the options on your truck when they come up with a number
