Official Coldpocalypse Whatcha Eatin' for Dinner Thread
Here in H-town it's been unseasonably cold, been in the 30's nad low 40's all day and we're predicted to have several days of actual freezing weather beginning Sunday night. Monday it's going to be down to the teens and people are freaking out. We're closing everything and hunkering down.
Anyway, tonight I had Frito pie, with jalapenos, chopped garlic, onions, and shredded cheese. Tomorrow I have a roast ready, so I can use the oven for a couple of hours to warm up the house. Whatch'all eatin' tonight? |

The snow forecast here keeps going up. Now we are at 9+ inches. That is just the weaker first system. The second is forecast of possibly over 20 inches. I wanna go back south.

Not a kettle of waste!
Ate the last of a recent batch of homemade chicken soup
We had a bit of snow but mostly sleet/ice...in other words, staying in and staying safe |

Won't be eating much. Haven't been to the supermarket since October.
Some rice will sound good if I get hungry enough. Finished off the potatoes yesterday... Maybe go shopping in the morning |

Yesterday was Chicken Pot Pie homemade, awesome dish. Today is my turn to cook, either Scrambled eggs with Ham and hash browns or Omelettes with hash browns and toast.
We are supposed to get around 5-9 inches of snow later today. I'm wondering how many call offs I'll get at work and how much forcing I'll have to do to keep the place running. |

Was Mrs. Simpleman's birthday yesterday so I cooked up some strip steaks, cut up all sorts of veggies for the salad, fresh Italian bread from the bakery down the street and ate by the pool/hot tub at sunset.
80 and sunny all week is a lot nicer than back home. Scott

Yeah, it's cold today.
Today is the 50th anniversary of our first date. I will cook in the house today, can't get at the grill (it's buried in a snow mound), T-Bones and Scallops, with a salad and rustic Italian bread. |
