Default August 2012 Photo Assignment Voting
This month's topic is "sky". Here's the description from the assignment thread:

Dark sky, stars, bright sky, clouds, storms, sunsets, sunrises... what ever you want, but the sky should be a prominent feature of the photo and not just there because you took it outside.

Since this is a holiday weekend I'm going to leave the poll open until Tuesday 9/4 to give everyone a chance to see the poll after the weekend.

Thanks! It did turn out to be a good topic, though I confess I didn't really think about the blue moon or meteor shower. Everyone came through with some great shots though.

I'm a little embarrassed I didn't have any photos to contribute after selecting the topic though. I had a killer shot planned but it had to be on a specific night and the weather didn't cooperate. Work and laziness are the excuses for the lack of "plan B".

I just went back and checked the rules.

I hereby concede this month's photo assignment poll contest to Needspeed. I withdraw my entry.

Sorry, folks. The original photo I posted of the feeder band cloud, at the suggestion of Beadist after I posted it in OT, was taken in Aug 2012 (it was a feeder band from Hurricane Isaac).

However, the other photos I posted were taken many months ago, including the one selected by Triple Black. I went back after I posted the feeder band photo and added a bunch of more sunset pictures I had on my cell phone. I'm sorry I didn't indicate to TripleBlack that these photos weren't taken in August and therefore are ineligible.
