Default Safe driver downloads

I have an old Acer touchscreen monitor and need the driver for a replacement computer.

What is a trusted site for getting drivers that the manufacturers no longer provide?

Good luck with that. Took me a week to find a driver for a mouse that was less than a year old. Got hundreds of hits doing a web search but I'd have to change my name to mrvette by clicking on those links. Ended up getting it from a manufacturer site written in Chinese. For whatever reason their English version didn't care to share that code. Scary shit.

I was hoping I could just download the drivers from the internet, but I am not sure how sketchy these companies are. It is an Acer T230H and it's like new since it has not been used in years.

Well, as it turns out, that monitor was intended for Windows 7. I was actually able to get it to be pretty functional by using the "tablet" settings. It gives me a keypad at least.

If you old drivers are on DVD go get a cheap USB DVD drive. $15!!! When computers stopped coming with one I bought one to be able to access my old stuff. Works like a champ.

It is likely that it won't work at all. Just like printers, the companies stopped making drivers for anything 7+ years old when Win10 was released.

Unless you need the touchscreen I don't think you'll need any drivers to make the monitor display. Usually monitor software is for on screen adjustments etc. and Windows and/or your video card takes care of the rest.
You should just be able to plug it in. All the video stuff is controlled by the video card driver etc.
I just took our first flat monitor, 15 year old 17" Viewsonic and connected to my old Windows 10 laptop, didn't install any drivers and it worked fine. I used it to convert the old laptop to Ubuntu.

I'm using it for a jukebox. It has about 10,000 songs and the jukebox software needs a touchscreen. Touch the album art, the songs come up. Touch the song, then touch play.
