I'm 66 in a few months. Spent two days cleaning the bike last week. All that bending over damn near did me in. Sweating my ass off! First ride some guy yelled at me across a parking lot from his truck window that I have a nice bike. Told him I just spent two days cleaning it, it better look nice! He acted funny like he wanted to talk more. Smelled like a misunderstanding? Don't know but I've zero patience for stupidity when I'm out on a mission to enjoy myself so I just lit up the throttle and GTF outta there.

Oh no. That was no misunderstanding. He wanted to kick your ass.

Hard to say, there were two guys in the truck. Might have wanted to make me an offer to buy? For the right price Been thinking something that weighs less than 800+ pounds with a fresh engine would be optimal. I like those street fighter style bikes with the fat tires.

Something like this would do a good job of getting me around town -

I thought the very same thing! No computers, no sensors, no mpg worries, styling. Looks like maybe a hint of a bumper for a Cutlass or Monte Carlo, too.

I've restored and owned many old cars. I enjoy turning a wrench a little and paint/body work as a hobby. They may have an electronic ignition conversion for it. I have several old Honda motorcycles. I just get irritated if they don't start within a couple of kicks and they won't throw you over the handlebars if you get it wrong...like I've heard about HD? Not sure, why that happens?

The blue one in the previous post sold at Mecum for $8k. Low mileage, all original, etc...he wants $2k firm for this one.

I agree. All my stuff is old, some more oily than others. My newest car is a '67, and my street bike is a '72. Everything has points and carburetors. And my '72 has a kick starter and a 4 speed gearbox. (BMW R75).

Real men drive old stuff they can rebuild and work on and fix on the side of the road. Posers dress up like pirates and have obnoxious exhaust systems and electric starters and stereos.

Yeah same. Fuq all this chrome the previous owner added. I would rather ride than polish chit all day. Will not go this route with the next one I get. That damn thing will have black everything so it can be dirty

Bolded first paragraph is the exact reason I sold the C4 and bought a C3.
Bumper is a Cutlass I used for a winter beater back then.

Bike price sounds reasonable. Did you offer anything, like $1500.00 ?

As for all you youngsters complaining of aches and pains, I'm 69 and still tooling around on a '94 FLSTC.

That’s a Heritage Softail for all you non-Harley types. 82 cu in EVO I believe.

It's gone to a new owner. Just couldn't convince myself to buy it. I think I want something to press a button and ride without hassles and reliability issues. But, it would have been fun around town and a fun resto project.

CL has posted a 1950 Thunderbird Triumph. One owner, but he made or installed some hideous exhaust on it. Claimed to be one owner with fairly low miles. Would be great if the have all the parts...but, they are firm at $6500 and it looks to have been butchered up too much.

Cool little bike. Appears to be the stock color.

I have the '71 FX Super Glide model in the avatar. The PITA issues with bikes of that era can be addressed, depending on how much $$ you want to throw at it.

Several aftermarket designers did, but this clown suggests this is a largely "original" bike which is untrue.
