Speaking of the test soundtracks we use; I love a system upgrade that is substantial enough that I hear things I never previously heard in a recording I've heard hundreds of times.

I use many of the common testers like Peter Gabriel So, Pink Floyd Animals, Dire Straits Love Over Gold and Brothers In Arms, James Taylor Hourglass, and a few assorted jazz and big band recordings.

Great recordings to reference. I have used Peter Gabriel "So" and Dire Straits "Brothers In Arms" too. A couple of my jazz references are Cannonball Adderly "Somethin' Else" and Miles Davis "Kind of Blue" and "Tutu". They may not be the best benchmarks, but I know the masterings well enough to get a feel for how well I like the speakers. And yes, it is great to hear something you haven't heard before in a recording.

Dittos on the horn speakers. Music just doesn't sound great to me with them.

Maybe do it in the garage with a few old beer taps like Old Milwaukee, Pabst etc but have a nice IPA, Porter hidden underneath.

Will be putting in a lift when the goat is done and I've been meaning to route air lines for the compressor. Need the room to get both cars in the garage but also want to spend some time teaching the kids how to do brakes, suspension maint, etc

PONG came out in 1972. It was our "big" Christmas gift that year from myself and my two brothers.

I know you said you aren't fond of BE but I think it's in the implementation of the xover. I am using a JBL housing and BE diaphragms. They weren't cheap at over $500 each but their performance is amazing.
The guy in the picture holding the waveguide is the designer and xover expert. I shipped everything over to him and he built the test boxes you see and designed the xovers.
Yes that is the speaker on his roof. It;s where he goes to get proper driver measurements where there is no boundaries.
I agree about horns though.
Which is why I went with huge waveguides.
Unfortunately even after 3 years of having all the drivers, xovers done and waveguides for a LCR I still haven't built them.
Dual 15's under the waveguide for size reference.

Video is just for notes on his BE experience. Not for quality hearing.
The graph shows how much smoother the BE driver is up high.
But, there may still be a AMT added as a supertweeter.

Really interesting info on the Be tweets. What in the hell are you waiting for on the builds?!

I still think about the insane 21" sub builds you did a few years back.

AMT super tweets would be a killer combo. I think Legacy crosses them over at 6k.

I finally got some more room treatments up on the front wall. I have a couple Skyline diffusers I'm trying to get the wife to approve for the back wall.
Most of back wall is open which helps with early reflection but she hates the look of the diffusers.
Oh well, at least she likes the front treatments.

We're also getting a larger rug to cover most of the floor. Should be here next week.
