You can always get a ticket tossed if you register before your court date. Probably why he didn't bother. Only downside is you have to show up to the court date and listen to morons try to argue their cases before you get your 5 seconds in and out.

They put kiosks in the neighborhood. If my personal box gets full, they move it to one of the package boxes.

I also have informed delivery

Interesting part of that is half the time when I receive the pics, its not in the box because the images were taken at some other part of the country in a processing center.

Usually says "what is on the way" sometimes it is in the box sometimes it's not so I still stick with my routine of going by Mon Wed and Saturday

I went paperless with the California DMV. A few months before it’s due, they start sending me email reminders to renew my registration. No renewal paperwork to get misdelivered. I just go online and renew before it’s late.

USPS only, but lots of small Amazon stuff comes that way. Only once did I get someone else's stuff and that was in my USPS box. Never had a UPS or FedEx get misdelivered. Maybe a dozen a month average. Heaven help a porch pirate that gets noticed here. You might get a rude awakening is the 'hood.

CA DMV attempted to utilize the Franchise Tax Board (CA state tax authority) to collect $300+ from my Discover account on a vehicle I haven't been driving since 2020 and is currently located out of state. They REFUSED to dismiss it and call off the dogs claiming I owed them for additional two years to a tune of >$1000. They sent me a link to fill-out a "statement of facts" in order to request dismissal...f that! After 20min of going round and round with thier chat-tard (you cannot get through on the phone) I called the FTB office, explained the circumstances and they immediately cancled enforcement of the entire debacle.
How the DMV believes they have jurisdiction to enforce you to comply over someone simply not driving a vehicle you own outright and repairing it out of state is beyond me. I'm guessing some simply pay once they get a threatening notice rather than challenge it.

Here if your box gets too full they take all your mail out and stash it behind the counter. Then they punish you by making you stand in the absurdly long line to retrieve it.

Sadistic bastards.

When I separated from the AF, I got some incentive money. I got a letter from CA that said I owe them taxes on the money because I "earned" it there even though I lived in CO. Idiots.

I find the mail of others in my mailbox too. Usually just belongs to the guy across the street. A few times I've opened it before realizing wasn't meant for me. Found myself wondering why the telephone company was threatening to turn off my service before reading the address on the envelope and getting good chuckle. Neighbor must have been super embarrassed knowing I opened that.

Oh well, at least I didn't toss it on the trash which I will do if I want. For all practical purposes if it's in my mailbox it's my property and I'll do with it as I please. Depends on whether I think it has any importance. Drove all the way across town to give somebody their mail once.

Which reminds me. Consumers skipped my bill last month. That's different. Guess it'll be included on this months statement? Don't know but it better be. Demographics here is 3% "Amish". Pretty sure all of them work in the post office

PO Informed Delivery showed that the DMV main office mailed out the registration on my truck. Two weeks later it hadn't arrived. We drove to the local office, two young, attractive women at two windows, no line at each, my wife chose one and the young gal printed out a copy for us in under a minute. For free.

USPS sucks the big brown trout. Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds - my arse. I ordered some European passports for various reasons and I tracked one to NYC where it sat ‘lost’ for over a month. I had to put a bit of effort into telling the USPS where it was before it finally got to me. Looked like it spent the month in Gaza. The USPS has no problem in stuffing my mailbox full of junk shit (every damn hvac company especially) but any important mail is dicey. If I can avoid physical mail I will but certain items cannot be digital and hence Cliff Claven and his happy wanderers are needed.

Apparently this was not the fault of the post office. Just opened a polite letter from customer services in the state capitol saying they've identified an issue with my bill and are making adjustments so it will be delayed. WILL BE? Would have been nice to know this some time prior to the usual due date which was a week ago. Oh well, at least now I can stop worrying about the missing bill and start worrying about WTF their issue with it is.

Maybe I've been underpaying for the last 50 years and they'll want a million dollars?
