Default on a sad note, one of my "old engine" friends was murdered
One of the guys who is a life member at Rough and Tumble was murdered in his house earlier this week. He lived on Long Island NY. Lee was 69

Lee was a genuinely good guy who had a business selling various parts for the old engines. Very knowledgeable and had a great memory for names. I'd usually only see him at the shows and he always remembered my name. We'd talk making parts and if I could help him out with processes or manufacturing companies, I'd share them with him. Always ready to help the newcomers without sounding like a know it all. He had friends all over.

That's awful man...

My gut? The lady living on his property has a connection to this.
Homeless population is abound with mental illness. Jealous lover, argument
started over something etc.

I've got family a few towns over in Southold. Very beautiful part of LI.

She may not be directly involved but maybe something was said and somebody else figured the "old man" would be easy pickings. Lee was still very fit.

I just hope they find whoever is responsible and they make it to trial.

The stable owner where my step-daughter learned to ride, was stabbed to death by a drifter that she let stay on the property and help out with odd jobs.
