2+ y/o single cup maker (4,6,8oz).
All I need, as I make a cup before heading out to work.

I use Gevalia or Starbucks House blend.

Grind fresh each morning in a cheap burr grinder. French press for me... Never had a pour over from a coffee shop I thought was better than a poorly executed french press. Detractors rant about grit in french press but I still don't wax my chest. A little grit's fine with me.

Me too more or less, I use a burr grinder every morning, usually a Texas roaster called Lola savannah, I’ll use a French press from time to time but my go to is basic Krupp drip coffee maker.

Will check out Lola Savannah next time I'm in Austin. I was frequenting a good roaster near here, Kindred Coffee Co.,but they got a little spendy for me so I've been grinding Costco Sumatra lately. I need to step up and get a decent grinder as mine leaves far to much "fines" though I have a good press then catches most of them.

Weekends are rough... wife is always up before me and puts Folgers in our Cuisinart drip maker. Barely drinkable, but I choose to drink bad coffee and sleep in.

Model is the SS-700. Yes it uses the Keurig cup. In fact it says "Keurig Brewed" right on the front panel. I'm not sure if they are produced anymore as I've had this for several years.

As far as noise, I don't really pay any attention to that. It's in my kitchen where everything makes noise.

I will add...this isn't the best cup of coffee, but it's fast and adequate. If I'm going for a great cup, I use beans that I get from a custom roaster and do it myself.

Well, I wasn't concerned about mine until I read this thread and found out they don't make the Platinum anymore. That is a sure sign mine will shit the bed now.

We use the K500 or something like that. I has 4 or 5 settings for the coffee size, different brew strengths, temp setting etc.
We are using DD regular brew. We had been using McCafe but it seems to be bitter and was upsetting my wife's stomach so we switched back to DD. We have tried a few others which were pretty good as well.
This machine replaced a Bunn carafe model which the heater died in after about 3 years. The Bunn made good coffee but it just did not last long. My grandmother had a Bunn coffee maker that lasted 20 years.

Out of paranoia, I bought a spare platinum on ebay last night. Less than 90 bucks with 1 year coverage. It is a refurb. Hopefully I won't need it for a while but better to have and not need than to need and not have.

None of the newer models have all the options of the Platinum though.

We had one a few years ago. Can't remember the model number, it cost about $100. Not the best coffee in the world, not the cheapest. I used the reusable cup and ground my own Peete's coffee. I usually only drink one cup per day, so convenience was a priority and it did that well.

We had it for one year and one day it leaked really badly. Never again. I'm using a Mr Coffee drip now, I make a full pot, then refrigerate and microwave for a few days. Something people forget about, and I'm thinking about going back to is a good old fashioned perculator, you know, like mom and dad used to have. Slow, but makes great coffee and the good ones have a light/dark adjustment on them. I'm thinking about getting one of those again.
