School bans a natural born 6 year old BOY from using the girls bathroom...I dont see where the school is in the wrong here. If you have a twig and berries, you are a boy, you were born a boy, and if you dont like that, unfortunately there are options you can opt to take when you are of legal age. Until such time, if you are a boy, you should be expected to use a boys bathroom, and dress as such.

Why as a society are we even up for making this a discussion, this is why our society is in the shitter so deep. If id wanted ot use the girls bathroom at 6, my dad would have taken me to a psych ward to get my head examined...these parents dont question it, they just..."whatever"....

Read the story. Supposedly at 18 months, he started playing with dolls and wanting girls clothes, than at 4, he wanted to go to the doctor and "be made into a girl",,,so the parents just let him be a girl, wear girls clothes, basically raising him as if his genitals dont exist at all...initially the school was okay with the "transition" but has since decided its not best and offered alternatives...such as using a private bathroom..ironically , the parents are worried that such a thing could allow him to be singled out for bullying.

As if being a boy, dressing up like a fairy, wasnt going to get his f*cking ass royally kicked every day until he graduates HS...

Y'all need some schoolin' in history, seriously. You act like this is somehow a symptom of today, when it has been a part of the species since we climbed down out of the trees.

We are talking about a process of gestation and development that is not, in any way, shape or form perfect. A million things have to go right for a fetus to develop into a person. One set of genes, one pair of chromosones, arranged one certain way and what you get at the end of the umbilical can be any number of combinations. As in any other part of nature, there are anomalies, there are abnormalities.

You don't see it often in nature because nature is cruel, and does not wait for a creature to determine what its supposed to be or do. Only those animals with the correct set of instincts survive. But these things do happen, in every corner of the animal kingdom. We would be arrogant to think it doesn't apply to us.

So, how do we deal with this? One way is with revulsion, rejection, disgust, hate. Perhaps hide behind a God, damn them in his name, use his word as your sword.

Another is tolerance, acceptance, compassion. Is it their fault that they didn't pop out of their mother, so sure in who and what they were sexually as you?

Count yourself lucky Red. You were only born short, pudgy and angry. Blessed you are.

A 4 or 6 year old does not have the complexity of thought and/or reason it would take to have any sensible approach to this defect. It is up to RESPONSIBLE parents to not necessarily deny him his impulses, but explain that until he is older, he needs to follow a certain set of rules in order to not get picked on when out in the general populace. Just my .02.

There is no doubt that, for the parents, that would make life easier. But to imprison a child in a label, in a life that doesn't fit, is cruel.

There is no easy answer for this. Do you allow a child to explore their world as themselves, or place restrictions on them, that don't fit, because society says that is what they are supposed to be?

In the context of society as a whole, we all have restrictions. Clothing is a damn good example. I can let my kid run around the house all day naked, but guess what, there are different rules outside my door. That is not trapping the child, that is teaching him that there are rules and you can't just do WTF you want to because you want to. If you want to be ACCEPTED by society, don't be a PAIN in society's ass. Make the effort to fit in. Calling attention to his issue by making him an exception is NOT going to fare well for anyone. kid's got enough problems already and this will only make it worse.
